How Much Will My New Fence Cost?
Dodds publishes fencing material prices online, and this calculator works out the materials and current prices for suitable systems. Installation does not have a fixed price per metre because every garden is different. An approved installer must assess access, ground conditions, existing fencing, removal work, slopes, obstacles and any gate requirements before providing an accurate fitting price.

How many fence panels do I need?
Enter the total fence length, choose feet or metres, and select the height. The calculator works out the panel quantities for each suitable system it presents.
How many fence posts do I need?
Post quantities are calculated as part of each complete option, so you do not need to work out the spacing or component list yourself.
Does it include posts and gravel boards?
Where a suggested system uses them, the result includes the appropriate posts, gravel boards, post mix, rails, boards and fixings with calculated quantities.
Can I compare different types of fencing?
Yes. One calculation can present several valid panel, closeboard and featherboard systems using timber or concrete posts, allowing quick price and material comparisons.
Can I buy the calculated materials online?
Yes. Choose a result and add its complete materials list to the basket. Product prices and availability are checked again when they enter the basket.
Can I save or email the result?
Each result can be saved to your Dodds account or emailed as a materials quote using the options already provided by the calculator.
