Dodds Fencing & Sheds is a long-established family-owned sawmill and timber business, proudly serving Teesside and the surrounding areas for more than sixty years.

From its roots as a working sawmill to today’s established fencing and garden building supplier, the business has grown by adapting to changing markets while staying true to its original values of hard work, reliability and straightforward service.

The business began in 1963, when Bill Dodds founded a small working sawmill supplying timber products to local industry, including the National Coal Board. In the early years, the sawmill processed railway sleepers and reclaimed timber, cutting them into practical products using traditional sawmilling machinery.

Tragically, Bill Dodds passed away before the first pallet order was completed. His son Peter carried the business forward, continuing the work of the sawmill and steadily developing the company through determination, practical skill and a strong work ethic.

As industries changed, the business adapted. Timber pallets and sawn timber products were produced for regional customers, and by the late 1970s the sawmill diversified again — this time into the manufacture of garden fencing panels.

Using the same sawmilling expertise, the company later expanded into sheds and timber garden buildings, giving customers the opportunity to buy quality garden structures direct from an established local sawmill.

Today, Dodds operates from a substantial 1.5-acre sawmill site in Stockton-on-Tees, with extensive storage facilities, product display space and a fully equipped sawmill capable of processing round timber for fencing and other timber applications.

Our location within Teesside’s main road network allows us to operate a fleet of multiple delivery vehicles, providing fast and reliable delivery of fencing materials, sheds and garden buildings across the region.

We also work with multiple experienced installation teams, helping customers complete fencing and garden building projects with trusted local fitting expertise.
