Shiplap Tongue and Groove Sheds are constructed using 12mm thick redwood cladding, including both the floor and roof. The framing is planed and measures approximately 38mm x 47mm for added strength and durability.
We avoid using inferior sheet materials, as they don’t offer the longevity or quality of real timber. As standard, our sheds come with a heavy-duty polyester roofing felt for extra protection.
Floor joists are typically spaced at 12 inches apart for added structural support. The shiplap T&G sheds also receive a high-quality, spirit-based timber treatment.
When choosing cladding for a shiplap shed, always opt for redwood pine over cheaper whitewood spruce. Redwood is less prone to knots falling out, resulting in a cleaner, longer-lasting finish.
